The Client sought a change from a traditional English garden with lawn, shrubs and perennials to a Mediterranean style garden. This was to provide for a lower level of maintenance for also something of a more unique character.

The design of the garden was able to take advantage of several existing trees and shrubs which could be incorporated into Mediterranean style.

The new garden design involved a central gravel walkway with lavender side planting, several olive trees and a range of Mediterranean style shrubs and perennials.

Other features in the garden involved the relocation of the main seating area and fish pond, the latter surrounded by ferns and appropriate tropical planting.

The planting of this garden will be undertaken over several years with significant areas for jasmine climbers and potentially bamboo planting.
